CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY BETWEEN CRAFT AND TECHNOLOGY
About
The idea of luxury is often tied to labour and time intensive techniques.
Changing how something is made changes the meaning and our perception.
This digital exhibition shows the works of young designers coming from Politecnico di Milano and the London College of Fashion who dealt with the design of new jewels that merge together the artisan tradition with new emerging technologies. A proof of how nowadays man and machine work more and more closely. The exhibition is divided into three categories that lead through the jewels depending on whether they are inspired by a high artisan tradition, contemporary context or curiously looking at future perspectives.
High Tradition
Jewels that look to the past, through ideas, processes or materials, in order to create new fascinating perspectives.
Live Now
A present created ad hoc for each person. The jewel that becomes
a manifesto to show yourself
to the world.
Future Thoughts
Futuristic suggestions that tell lights
and shadows, humans and machines
of a time not so far away.
